About Texans One and All
When it opened in 1968, the Institute of Texan Cultures was defined as a permanent research and production center dealing with the history of the people who make up Texas. Over the past 50 years, the Institute’s charge as an educational center has not changed. Texas is, of course, a land, a state, once a nation, a huge and mixed ecology, a ritual happening, a stereotype, an economy, a state of mind, a way of life – and people. The population of Texas consists of people from hundreds of origins from Afghan to Zambian, “native” to “foreign-born,” ”unknown” to “born at sea,” but they are Texans one and all! The following are Educator Resources that accompany each of the sections in the permanent Texans One and All exhibit.
